Spring Auction: April 20, 2024

Our annual "head, heart & hands" spring auction supports teachers and our school for the benefit of our children. Many hands organize the event, plan the party, collect donations and roll-out this lively evening of camaraderie, cajoling and cash to support Winterberry's public Waldorf-inspired education.

"Empower and enliven parents with Waldorf inspiration. We're in this together." Join parent workshops Wednesday after school led by folks with fascinating skills, expertise, hobbies, and interests. It's a fun way for adults to learn and play together by sharing our know-how right here.(nature journaling, occupational therapy, conflict resolution, healthy lunches, home health kits)

Support Your Class

Volunteer: Ask your child's teacher

Respond to teacher requests for field trip support, special supplies, class projects, celebrations and learning opportunities. Prioritize parent-teacher conferences, class parent nights, go to open house and student showcase events like winter assembly, class plays, Grade 8 circus. Help "big kids" raise funds for Eighth Grade Trip.

Serve the School Community

Volunteer: Read Winterberry Business e-newsletter

Lead community service efforts like managing the school store, coordinate faculty lunches, organize gear swap, lost & found clean-outs. Help orchestrate school picture day, join clean-up events, help with play yard improvement. Support holiday giving efforts. Read the weekly "Winterberry Business" school e-newsletter to learn more.

This "friend raiser" invites the wider Anchorage community to get a feel for our school while supporting upper-grade classes raising money for their Eighth Grade Trip. The volunteer effort is jolly with food prep, games, crafts, fairy realms, FUN.

Annual Events & Ongoing Efforts

There are many ways to weave a strong connection of interdependence with your school community and build the village it takes to raise and educate children. This unique, holistic, Waldorf-inspired education is somewhat different from current mainstream schools because everything that happens at Winterberry is guided by the natural timeline of child development. WPG's events and efforts aim to employ developmentally appropriate activities and engagement for children and families.
